The Talk, Vermont: A response to trump’s enemy within elimination plan

On July 1st, host Rev. Arnold Thomas sat down with VAAP’s Executive Director Jill Martin Diaz, Executive Director & General Counsel of Vermont’s Human Rights Commission Big Hartman, and Legal Director of the ACLU of Vermont Lia Ernst on The Talk, Vermont. The group discussed Trump’s Enemy Within Elimination Plan, a plan that encompasses the mass deportations undocumented immigrants continue to endure. The panel discussion centers around protecting the rights of all Vermonters, and what each organization does to combat harm. From using Vermont’s networks, reiterating and growing rights at the state level, and fighting for due process in court, these local immigration protection leaders highlight the ups and downs of what they have faced in the last six months as well as plans going forward.
