National Imm Project Analyzes “BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL”

Found below is a comparison chart stating the immigration related fee changes apropos of the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill”, a budget-reform bill that majorly boosts immigration defense and immigration enforcement funding, increasing many immigration process fees. The document states the prior fee, current post-bill fee, waiver possibilities, as well as where the fee goes.

See the comparisons here.

7/24/2025: Update on Fee Waivers

Many of the new immigration-related fees introduced under the “Big Beautiful Bill” are not eligible for waivers, contrary to earlier hopes.

  • The $250 filing fee for SIJ (Form I-360) is nonwaivable.

  • The $100 asylum application fee (Form I-589), and the $100 annual pending fee, are nonwaivable.

  • The $550 fee for initial asylum-based EADs is nonwaivable.

  • Fee waivers are available for part, but not all, of the EAD $795 or $745 renewal fee.

These fee changes should be discussed with all clients to help mitigate financial burden and allow sufficient time for clients to budget accordingly.
